From Cubism to Art Deco

Art Deco is said to be a popularization of Cubism and the Cubists such as Pablo Picasso and Paul Cezanne believed that all realism was based on nature and all nature could be reduced to simple geometric shapes.

  1. love Love LOVE the cubist slant! i was at the library today and was looking through books about gustav klimt and piet mondrian. klimt is pretty heavy with the textile patterns and i think his influence would -- when his intensity was dialed down a bit -- be a good fit for our women's line as well as accenting/lining for the men. mondrian is significantly more liner, but i was pursuing his style in simplifying environmental shapes for our logo. i'll post more in a bit
